Like most, I found myself furloughed due to the COVID-19 Crisis. I may be furloughed, but it doesn't mean that I can't be fabulous.
When I was growing up my mother had a rule most mothers do, no shoes on the carpet, which was basically the entire house with the exception of the small patch of title by the doors or in the kitchen. Well, Momma, I'm 28, this is my space and we have nothing but hardwood floors. Bring on the shoes!
Who ever said shoes were only meant to be worn when leaving the house?
Furloughed but Fabulous
The COVID-19 Crisis has left most of us without our jobs, at least temporarily. Those of us still working are heroes in modern society, in foodservice, grocery stores, auto shops, hospitals, and more. For Nicholas and I, it meant that we suddenly found a whole lot of time to be at home.
Normally, being home would mean extra comfy clothes for maybe one or two days during the weekend. We get dressed every day, so those days were for us to be at home in (in the words of one of our theatre professors) "full comf." What does that mean for me? A pair of my favorite house boots, either my black Bearpaw or my Fuzzies from Shoedazzle, my favorite oversized anime T-shirt, and a pair of super soft leggings.
This was great for a few days! A different pair of leggings, a different shirt, and some comfy boots, every day?! Yes, please!
Then I started thinking, I have a huge shoe collection that I don't always get to explore and play with during the regular schedule of life, what the heck am I doing in the same two pairs of boots?!
Off to the closet, I went - to rediscover all of my shoe babies! Do I have a problem? Of course not! An obsession? Most definitely!
Here are the shoes I wore during my first fourteen days of Quarantine - what day is it now? :p
Day One: Shoedazzle Fuzzies (I don't actually have this box anymore and the name has worn off. Oops!😅) Halloween Leggings and an oversized Assasin's Creed t-shirt that was Nicholas's until I stole it! Muahaha!
Day Two: Vive-58 by Wild Diva Lounge (found in the mall back in 2017) - Paired with: my elephant leggings and Gamora "Breakout!" t-shirt from Disney's California Adventure. It was my big souvenir on the ride's opening day! :D
Days Three-Four: Johanna by BearPaw - Different workout leggings every day, paired with my exclusive Cuphead t-shirt from a Funko box on day three, but with Sombra on Day four. (I'd link them, but they're both sadly sold out).
Day Five: Adrietta by Shoedazzle (from 2016) paired with my favorite leggings (of all time!) by Justfab (They pop in and out of stock, and I am and constantly stalking this link for my size) and my faux leather peplum top from Charlotte Russe.
Day Six: Shoedazzle Fuzzies - Halloween leggings and my oversized Terminator: Dark Fate hoodie that was given to me at work.
Days Seven - Eight: Camila by Forever - This outfit is the one pictured! The leggings changed to my black and red Christmas ones the next day. Besides, #QuaranChristmas really should be a thing. ;)
Day Nine: Yuanhua wedged sneakers by Xing Wei (they look like heeled converse and were a gift, so no link for these beauties. 😓) - My stylishly ripped leggings from Express (I got them back in 2016 at an outlet mall) with my favorite Teefury Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy t-shirt.
Day Ten: Moto Loco Buckled Stiletto Boot (in blue) by Shoedazzle. - This was paired with my sleep shorts and my oversized Terminator: Dark Fate hoodie again. I gave myself some serious Ariana Grande vibes that day.
Day Eleven: Salti by Shoedazzle (sadly sold out) - My D.va Overwatch shirt from Hot Topic and my ripped Express leggings.
Day Twelve: Beya by Justfab (sadly sold out - from 2015) - This look was to go to Kroger, and it consisted of some faux leather paneled leggings (they're so old, I have no recollection of where they're from) and my super comfy long sleeve shirt from Express.
Day Thirteen: Moto Loco Buckled Stiletto Boot (in white) by Shoedazzle. - I wanted more Ari vibes, so the hoodie look was back!
Day Fourteen: Dania (in plaid) by Shoedazzle. - Paired with sleep shorts, footless tights, and my Overwatch Mercy t-shirt from Hot Topic.
I keep seeing women ask in Facebook statuses, tweets, and even Instagram posts if it is "weird to wear your new heels to the grocery store" or "to take out the trash" - NO QUEEN, it's what you deserve to wear! Hold your head up high, you're crown can't fall if you're standing tall! Wear them at home and rock them in your kingdom too! 😘
